Cheap Bunk Beds :
As a general rule, the more you pay for a bed, the better you will sleep. If you are looking to buy a bunk bed, the chances are that it is not for you to sleep on (unless you are a college student, for instance). It will probably be for your child. It is therefore important to weigh up the cost against the safety issue. Bunk beds are potentially the most dangerous beds because of their height, and whilst all beds sold after June 19 2000 must comply to safety measures as set by the CPSC, cheaper bunk beds are perhaps more likely to give you problems a few years down the line. Tiredness could severely hamper your child’s development, both physically and at school, so they would appreciate a comfortable bed to sleep in, and you should spend as much as you can possibly afford. If you are a college student, you should be responsible enough to make your own decisions about how much you can afford to spend on a bunk bed, but it is advisable to spend as much as you think you can get away with. You might not feel the effects now, but maybe you will in forty years time.
It is unlikely that you will be able to find a strong bunk bed for less than $150, and it can often be worth spending another $200. Whilst we do not deny that there are bargains out there in which a good quality bed can be purchased for this little money, we believe that the extra money spent could be really worthwhile. If you are on a tight budget, you might find better value for money by looking for a metal bunk bed rather than one made from wood. As a general rule, a metal bed at the same price as a wooden bed in this budget end of the market is more likely to be better quality.
Perhaps one good tip would be to buy a good quality bunk bed which can be separated into two twin beds. This means that if you have two children who are sharing a room, they can easily move into their own rooms when the time comes.
